In addition to reading at least two of the novels on the list you received, you will also be required to complete a project for each novel.
1. Assemble an imagery collage on card stock.
As part of the collage you may use:
*Pictures from newspapers, magazines, etc. (not the Internet!)
*Your own illustrations
*Found objects (ticket stubs, cards, feathers, etc.)
*Anything else you think will enhance the effect of your collage in relation to the images in the novel.
Make sure it is neat and something which you would be proud to display.

2. Write a one page book review. You must begin by stating a clear opinion, and then use the remainder of the review to offer details from the text that make you think in such a way. Please complete this work on your own as I will use this work to get a better understanding of who you are as a writer. Type and double-space.

Include your name, the title and the author on both assignments. DO NOT put pictures on the book review (I want to see your writing).

1. Have one of the characters in one required novel write a letter to an English teacher explaining why he or she should teach the novel to a middle school English class. Include several reasons to support the character's opinion and lots of specific details from the novel in the letter. Tyoe the letter double spaced (250 word limit)
2. Create a collage (9 x 12 inch construction paper is more than big enough!) for the second required novel you read.
Include your name, the title and the author on both assignments.

Assignment:
1. Create a bookmark that represents one of the required novels you read. You may use words and/or pictures. Be prepared to explain how your bookmark represents your novel in class.
2. Create an advertisement (9 x 12 inch construction paper is more than big enough!) for the second required novel you read. The advertisement should include an eye-catching phrase, a BRIEF sumary of the plot (Typed - double spaced!0 and a picture. Your goal is th get people to buy the book.
